How do you see love?

How do you see love?
Constantly hearing things like

“Love starts with you”

“Love comes from within”

“Learn to love yourself”

or

“Love yourself first”

What's your reaction to these?
Do you really understand them?
I’ll be the 1st to say - I never really did.

The last decade I've been “un-doing” a lot of bad practices whilst learning about self love.

I’ve had to make dramatic changes in my life, to create the dramatic change I sort.

To understand old bad patterns,

So to create new aligned ones.

..starting from looking without, (seeking worthiness & validation) because my “within” wasn’t a place love or safety lived.
A fact I’d completely overlooked, until the umpteen relationship breakdown when I did a retreat (out of mere desperation) and it hit me like a big smack in the face “I’m not loving myself, actually, I don’t even really know how to.”
Now.. was it just me?

Was I skipping class the whole month we were suppose to learn about love in school?!
Because I certainly didn’t learn a damn thing about it (honestly, didn’t seem like my friends did either, from how we lived) and wouldn’t this be considered one of the most important things to learn about?

Surely I couldn’t have been off hanging out with ‘the bad boy’ from school that whole time? -Quite the opposite to loving oneself as it turns out, but hey, that’s a big part of what led me here today.
Practicing self love.. And helping others practice it too!

What we seek externally, reflects our internal worlds.

Ever heard this?

We judge others only as badly as we are judging ourselves internally.
Side note: Whether we’re concious of this or not, is a whole other story!

Meaning, the voice inside us that’s criticising others can only do so to the level & extent its learned to do so in you, from criticising yourself. (Consciously or subconsciously).
Soooooo

We love others, only as well as we are loving ourselves internally?

Whether we’re conscious of this, or not?

YES!!!!

Our inner world always reflects outward.

We see the world as who we are, not how it is.
How do YOU see the world? Or, perhaps before Valentines day, ask yourself this:
