Do Your Feelings Run You

What If Feelings Aren’t The Enemy?

Try this:

Look at your feelings with curiosity, as an observer. Notice the sensations they create — how you recognize something as a “feeling” inside your body.

Consider the following:

What sensation is happening inside your body?
Waves, tingling, thudding, sinking, fluttering, pulsating?
Where do you feel it?
Does it move around or stay in one place?
Does it come and go?
Does it have a temperature or color attached to it?
(And yes — black and white are colors too.)

Just welcome the sensations.
No need to question them or change them.

Simply sit with them.
Notice them.
Allow them to exist.

Just feel them.

Your feelings are not interruptions.
They are messages.

The Moment You Stop Resisting

Then notice what happens when you stop suppressing, fighting, ignoring, or resisting your feelings.

Let the sensations come and go while you stay present with your breath.

Follow them with your attention.

Welcome whatever wants to be there and allow it to take up space — as if the sensations are a trusted friend finally being listened to.

This is where the shift begins.

As you reconnect with your feelings instead of disconnecting from them, you begin to understand their real purpose.

Feelings are not working against you.

They are messengers.
An inner compass.
Signals guiding you back toward harmony within yourself.

They work with you, not against you.

What we avoid often grows louder.

Reconnect With Yourself

Sometimes the most important relationship is the one you build with yourself.
Lay In Your Own Love is a reflective digital experience designed for emotional intimacy, softness, and deeper self-connection.

For slow mornings, emotional resets, and reconnecting to your inner world.

Feelings Need To Be Heard

Feelings don’t overtake us when we give them space to be felt.

Their job is to deliver a message.

Once heard, the intensity softens, leaving us with clarity and connection — a calmer place from which we can decide whether action is needed.

Maybe the message is:

I need to express my truth.
I need stronger boundaries.
I need rest.
I need change.

Listening takes courage.

Acting on what you hear takes courage too.

But being connected to yourself creates a kind of inner peace nothing else can replace.

Building A New Relationship With Emotion

It’s time to build a new relationship with feelings.

Many of our emotional patterns were shaped by younger versions of ourselves — by fear, uncertainty, survival, or misunderstanding.

But now, we know more.

We can meet our emotions differently.

We can learn to experience feelings as adults instead of fearing them as children.

With each wave of emotion, simply allow it to exist.

Feel it fully.

Do nothing until the sensation settles.

Then notice what remains:
clarity, groundedness, peace.

When I changed my relationship with feelings, I changed the way they communicated with me.

They no longer needed to scream.

They could whisper — and I could finally hear them.

My Experience With Anxiety

For me, anxiety felt like pressure. Weight.  Movement.

A sinking sensation in my chest and throat.

Sometimes it felt like a hood being pulled over me and suddenly lifted again.

It moved quickly and intensely through my body.

Instead of fighting it, I began observing it.

I followed it with my attention.

I welcomed it — allowing it to exist exactly as it was.

As big as my body.
As big as the room.
As big as the world if it needed to be.

And then, eventually, it passed.

Not because I forced it away.
But because I listened.

Afterward came clarity.

I could finally ask:

What triggered this?
What truth have I been avoiding?
What needs to change?

For me, the answer was a friendship that no longer aligned with who I was becoming.

A difficult truth.
But once acknowledged, everything softened.

The anxiety disappeared because I finally listened to myself.

Listening To Yourself Changes Everything

Sometimes healing is not about fixing yourself.

Sometimes it’s simply about listening.

Your emotions are not proof that something is wrong with you.

They are invitations:
to reconnect,
to slow down,
to pay attention,
to come back to yourself.

And maybe that’s the real transformation —
not becoming emotionless,
but becoming safe enough to feel.
